WOODCARVERS OF LAS VEGAS
On another Hot Saturday in July we has our second July meeting at Woodworkers Emporium with
10 members in attendance. We welcomed one new carver in Dennis Wainwright.
Rod drove 20 hours home from his annual woodcarving week long class in Nebraska to be with us.
Here is his class project---
Quite a nice butternut carving for 5 days.
Dennis shared a woodcarving he was given 30 years ago from a friend he worked with.
It is carved from 1 toothpick with a sharpened needle. All the pieces work and there is a ball in a
cage in the chain.
Hope to see you at "Wood It Is" on August 4th.

Today we had our monthly meeting at Wood It Is with 9 members and 1 visitor. Liz bought her
Mother "to meet all her Grandpas'". And for a lesson on carving faces before she heads off to
Ghana on her mission in August.
Also whenever I think I can carve I see another beautiful carved piece , and I think someday
maybe I could that. Here is an example that Dennis is turning and carving for a table base for his
wife.
Check out he got all that flower in 3/32" of depth.
See you all on the 21st. of July at Woodworkers Emporium.
