Woodcarvers' of Las Vegas November Meeting ---
Our monthly meeting was last Saturday at Woodworkers' Emporium with 7 members in attendance.
Our meeting produced no wood chips this month but lots of good conversation and some Great show and tell.
Ted brought some extra carving tools to sell.
John brought his "new style golf ball " handle. He uses this style handle on his files and has converted it to some of his carving tools with great success. Here is his jig to drill the golf ball.
Just flip over to see each side.
Happy Holidays to you all. See you next month.

October Meeting
Our regularly scheduled meeting was held at Woodworkers Emporium on Arville here in Las Vegas last Saturday the 25th. Unfortunately, the only "regular" members of the group was Dennis and myself! We were well attended by the woodcarving group from Anthem (Henderson area) who came to visit. They meet in their clubhouse every Tuesday and Saturday and welcome visitors. Contact either Dennis or Randy for times and location.
The time was spent making chips …..
and making sawdust.
With a fair amount of hints and story telling thrown in for good measure!
Our woodcarving group meets every 4th. Saturday of the month so do mark your calendars and set up a reminder in electronic device of your choice so you can come to the scheduled meetings. The time is 9:30 am until 11:30. If you haven't had the chance to respond to the questions that Randy sent out earlier please remember to do that so that he and Dennis know the direction you'd like the group to take.

September Meeting--
Another great meet with 5 new members attending their first meeting. WELCOME !
Our attendance was 12 a new all time high. Lets hope this is a sign of times to come.
Dennis started our meeting with show and tells from Scott Bigler, Rod Dickerson, and himself.
Dennis passed out a Christmas Santa face ornament project to get the holiday spirit started. Maybe we can get 1 or 2 projects done before the holidays.
At the end of the meeting Mike Cook treated us with his Celtic Cross carving. Great job Mike !

August Meeting ---
Well sorry to say there is little news to post today. Randy was late sending out the e-mail reminder for todays meeting and only 4 members and two visitors attended.
One of our visitors was a carving teacher from an Anthem woodcarving club, and the other was the president of the Las Vegas wood turners.
Lets hope next month is back to normal.

June Meeting
Another monthly meeting is behind us. We seem to get some new faces at every meeting, which with vacations is keeping us at around 7 or 8 carvers per meeting. If this settles out we should have over 10 or 12 regulars by fall.
Lots of discussion resulted in Dennis offering to teach relief carving( SHELLS ) at our next months meeting.. He will be sending us a list of tools we would need before the meeting. He is sure we all probably have what we will need. Here is an example of a leaf he carved. Hope to see you all next month. BRING A FRIEND.
